Delicious!! Each meal is mad as you order so it can take a tad longer than other Mexican restaurants! It is worth it though!!

If you are not fortunate enough to park in one of the 4-5 parking spots in the front, you are required to park behind the building. This leads you directly pass the dumpster which in itself is not very appetizing. Combined with the fact it has heaps of junk and trash lying around the dumpster.
Once inside the building you will be pleased with the aesthetic appearance and the decorations. The restraunt was clean and appeared well kept on the inside.
Service was sub par. The establishment was half full of dinners with two of the dining rooms closed. I had to ask 3 times and 2 separate waitresses for a glass of water. Eventually having to get up from my table and walk to the bar and ask for water.
We had the table served guacamole. It was a mediocre presentation from a disinterested waitress. The guacamole was generic tasting and did nothing to spark our interest or palate. Not worth the $10.00 price.
The meal arrived with some anticipation in hopes that all the positive Yelp reviews regarding this eatery would present itself in the main course. This was not the case. The burrito was plated and displayed in a pleasing manner. But the temperature was warm at best and there appeared to be little or no spices.. One of our dinner guests ordered the refried beans. They did not appear freshly cooked. There consistency was clumped together as in mashed potatoes.
Overall the meal reminded me of a frozen dinner with poor service. Perhaps I was there on the wrong night. But I would be hesitant to try it again. -

You would have a better time next door at a place called Skeeters. Believe it or not.
* Parking only for 4 vehicles
* Can seat about 30 people
* They have liquor license problems
I must have the worst luck today because deep into our wait we realized that they were understaffed in the kitchen. Regardless of this issue, you would think that other people around us would wait as long as us... nope. They got their food within 30 minutes so it felt that our table was singled out.
From a cooks perspective, whatever dish we did get was way underwhelming, obviously rushed and lacked basic culinary techniques. The dish should be served on warm-hot plates. Ours were served on a cold dish which brought the temperature of the food down. Any dish that has sauce was used to mask the cooking "shortcuts" that was used which I'll mention below.
In the end this place needs work.
If you're looking for Mexican food in Mississippi, then try out this place called Tamale Shak. It's the only other place that I have tried. Don't worry yelper I'm planning on going to all the Mexican spots to weigh in on this area.
How can you trust my taste buds you ask?
I have been to Southern California and Tijuana. If you end up in SoCal, then try Tacos el Gordo, Taqueria Revolution, Pinks Tacos and El Indio to name a few.
Any pictures that I have taken was when we stopped eating. We were very hungry and couldn't even finish the dish.
Make good decisions yelpers!
So to the owner. I have given creative criticism. Don't look at this as bad. These are pointers where you can improve. So good luck to you.
TRPOICAL MOJITO
If it is spring then you go with strawberries. This drink was ok. Tasted better than average. This is the only reason they got 1 Star.
QUESO FUNDIDO
No picture and no review on this because it took over 1 hour "to start plating" a cheese dish?! We ended up asking to cancel this order.
(My first time to actually cancel an order)
STEAK SOMETHING W/ MASH POTATOES
(Ordered well done but not by me because medium rare is what I go with)
Her plate was also cold.
The stake was cooked rare to medium rare.
Steak was cooked on a cast iron pan instead of a grill.
Culinarily, chefs would sous vide the steak to the perfect doneness and then slap it on the grill for grill marks and caramelization.
She had this dish sent back and dipped for a buffet place at some casino.
STUFFED AVOCADO (chicken edition)
1 whole medium sized avocado cut up
+
Less than 1/2 lb of chicken
+
"White wine" sauce that you cant taste
+
2 small corn tortillas
=
A $13 dish that will not fill you up.
Served on a cold plate which would make you think if this dish was just sitting there waiting to get picked up. Or if the dish was cooked at all.
Plus I don't get why this dish is called stuffed avocado. The avocado or chicken wasn't stuffed... I sure wasn't stuffed. In fact I felt stiffed.
From a business perspective you're telling me that 2 small soft shell tacos that I have to put together myself is $13?!
BBQ RIBS
The obvious shortcut that many many places use is boiling the ribs before slathering the BBQ sauce and putting the ribs under the broiler to get what looks like ribs but tastes bland.
How can you tell this method was used?
Bite into ribs, if cooked correctly which is low and slow over many hours, the BBQ flavor should have permeated the meat.
This ribs had the flavor only on the outside and nothing but blandness in the middle.
Another way you can tell is the fat on the meat is not supposed to be there. Low and slow method would have broken down and melted the fat. -

For my 100th yelp review I went to a restaurant that a couple of my yelp friends have given good reviews to!
I went on a taco Tuesday and there tacos were 2$ (I tried all four of them, chicken, chorizo, fish, and pulled pork. The chicken and fish are seasoned with the same seasoning and tasted identical so much that I was certain I had two chicken tacos. I guess everything tastes like chicken :) the real standout of the tacos was the pulled pork taco. Having been to Houston and San Diego I have had better tacos and tortillas but not bad for Biloxi. They also give chips and salsa for free and the salsa is perfect. Fresh, cilantro, and just the right amount of kick! Nice atmosphere, great bartender and a very nice owner. -

This little mom and pop place was epic. They have a cute little patio lit up with white patio lights and if it wasn't so cold we would have sat out there.
Upon entering you walk straight into the bar area and we were greeted with a smiling face promptly. Seated immediately, which was great because we were hungry! We were informed of happy hour that was going on, and who doesn't like happy hour?!
I ordered a blueberry margarita on the rocks with a sugar rim. My bf ordered a blueberry and pineapple margarita on the rocks with a salt rim. Both were exceptionally the best margaritas I've ever had. (And that's HUGE from me being that I tended bar for 5 years!) from the fresh blueberries and pineapple to the fact that they don't use lime sour and the tequila was so smooth to top it off they garnished it with an extra wide "adult" size straw!
Our food was exceptional as well we got quesadillas and fajitas which were made with the best and most tender cuts of steak. Everything was really on point here. From the friendly service, to the fresh guacamole made at the table to order and the atmosphere, we will be back.
If you like a higher end Spanish/Mexican flavor and want fresh higher end ingredients and are in the area, this place has it all!
